From Site Admin to Proposal and Content Manager
I joined BEST in 2024 as Assistant Site Manager after completing my studies in Canada. At that time, I had friends who already worked here and would always mention it was a great place to work, with fair work-life balance, growth opportunities and solid structure.
As an ASM, I spent most of my days shoulder to shoulder with our frontline teams, running machines and learning the work by doing it. More than anything, I wanted every Team Member to see me as someone standing beside them, not above them. That period also gave me the chance to help out at other sites and meet the people who quietly make BEST as dependable as it is.
When the opportunity came to move to an events-based site, I took it, hoping it would stretch me in new ways. The Vancouver Convention Centre team welcomed me as their Site Admin, and I got to be part of keeping some very busy months running smoothly.
Then the Proposal and Content Coordinator role opened up. The Marketing team saw value in having someone with an Operations background write the proposals we send to prospective sites, and they invited me in, and I'm forever grateful they took that chance on me. Ten months later, after countless proposals, blog posts, intranet stories, celebrations, and a few meaningful changes along the way, I have been promoted to Proposal & Content Manager.
Every step I took here has been built with the support of people who saw something and made room for me, and I do not take that lightly.
