Sustainability becomes more meaningful when it is part of everyday work and when progress can be clearly seen over time. Through its partnership with BEST, Humber College has continued strengthening its approach to waste diversion in a way that supports both daily operations and long-term sustainability goals.
Since 2019, BEST has been closely involved in supporting Humber’s waste management efforts across campus. Through hands-on training, stronger integration into daily janitorial routines, and ongoing performance tracking, our teams helped build a more consistent and effective waste management system that improved from near-zero diversion numbers, especially in high performing buildings and large-scale sites, where most of the College’s waste is processed.
Behind this progress is a team that understands the importance of sorting accurately, preventing contamination, and bringing more responsible practices into daily work with consistency and care, which has, then, led to these meaningful results across multiple facilities.
This progress shows how the support from the right partner, consistent practices, engaged teams, and a shared commitment can turn sustainability goals into measurable results. It also reflects the way we collaborate with our clients across every space we care for, helping sustainability become part of everyday work through practical actions, lasting progress and ongoing improvement.
