On June 6, our Alberta team proudly participated in Pearls of Wisdom at Mount Royal University (MRU), an event that brought people together to celebrate community and support students. The fundraiser helps provide scholarships that make it easier for students to continue their education and reach their goals.
As a sponsor of this year’s event, BEST was proud to support a cause that makes a difference for students and the community. Our team also helped behind the scenes by laying tarps throughout the space, helping keep the event safe and welcoming, and providing cleaning services during and after the event. Thank you to our MRU team for your hard work and dedication in helping make this special event a success.
Hitting the Green for Our Post-Secondary Communities
Golf season gave our Ontario team plenty of opportunities to get out on the course for a good cause! This year, BEST joined tournaments connected to St. Clair College, Durham College and Ontario Tech University, and Georgian College, with each one helping support students and initiatives connected to their campus communities.
At St. Clair College, BEST joined as the Volunteer Sponsor, supporting fundraising for student scholarships. Our team also attended the Regional Chair’s Classic in Durham Region, where funds raised support student success at Durham College and Ontario Tech University, as well as mental health programs at Ontario Shores. At the Georgian College Golf Classic, BEST joined as an Ace Sponsor and welcomed golfers at our Take a Break Station, while the tournament raised funds for student awards, scholarships, and bursaries.
Across all three tournaments, the focus went beyond golf. Our teams had the opportunity to connect, get involved, and help support scholarships, student success, and mental health programs that make a meaningful difference.
Getting Campuses Ready for Back-To-School
Back-to-school is one of the busiest times across our higher education sites, and our teams were ready to welcome another academic year! At BCIT, the Burnaby team came together for a refresher on safety, team member responsibilities, and BEST’s cleaning processes and expectations, making sure everyone was prepared for the busy weeks ahead.
At Langara College, our team supported the back-to-school welcome in a different way, joining the annual Block Party with an interactive waste diversion game. Students put their sorting knowledge to the test while learning more about sustainability initiatives already happening across campus. Whether preparing behind the scenes or connecting with students as they return, our teams play an important part in helping their sites start another semester ready and strong.
