Recently, our Ops and HR teams came together in Windsor to deliver an orientation at St. Clair College as part of our start-up. The session marked a key step in the process, bringing the team together around the expectations and knowledge that will guide the work across campus.
Designed specifically for the operation, the orientation combined an introduction to BEST’s culture, policies, service expectations, and safety approach with training tailored to the College. Topics included General Safety, WHMIS, Blood-Borne Pathogens, PPE, Cleaning for Health, and the Emergency Action Plan. Through presentations, team members explored how these standards apply to their work and shared a space for questions, conversation, and the small connections that help a group begin to feel like a team.
This preparation allows each session to reflect the operation and the people it is designed to support, and gives our clients a reliable, well-coordinated start from day one. It’s also an opportunity to welcome new team member with BEST’s warm and welcoming culture. After that, team members continue their learning path on the MyBEST Training Portal, with hands-on instruction and onsite guidance, to continue supporting the team as services begin.
