September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, is a time to remember the Indigenous children who never returned home from residential schools, and to honour Survivors, their families, and their communities.

We know reconciliation is more than one day. It is an ongoing journey that calls for learning, awareness, and meaningful action.

Partnerships in Action

At DND Cold Lake, our joint venture with Legacy Site Maintenance Corp. and local Nations, including Ministikwan First Nation and Big Island Lake Cree Nation, has created jobs, training, and career opportunities. Today, more than a third of the custodial team identify as Indigenous, supported through culturally aware onboarding and programs such as 4 Seasons of Reconciliation and MyBEST Training Paths.

Investing in Education

We are also proud to support Indigenous learners. In 2025, we contributed to Langara College’s Indigenous Transfer Program and Humber College’s Indigenous Scholarship Fund, helping to reduce barriers and create pathways to education and opportunity.

A Lasting Commitment

Through partnerships with communities such as Tsawwassen First Nation, and active membership in CAMSC and CCAB, we continue to strengthen Indigenous participation and supplier diversity. Reconciliation is a shared responsibility. We are committed to advancing Indigenous engagement through employment, education, and partnerships, while fostering respect and collaboration every day.
