Sustainability isn't just a buzzword at BEST; it's a commitment we've upheld with pride and dedication. Since 2007, we've made it our mission to minimize our environmental impact while setting an example for others to follow. Here are 5 key factors that make BEST green:

  • Carbon Friendly Since 2007: We are proud to have maintained our carbon-friendly designation since 2007. Partnering with Ostrom, Canada’s leading carbon offset company, we closely monitor our environmental footprint and continuously seek ways to reduce our emissions. Over the years, we've offset approximately 10,000 tons of CO2e.

  • Leading in Waste Diversion: We help clients meet waste reduction goals through “zero waste” training, PPE recycling, effective signage, introduction of reusable containers in cafeterias, waste sorting, and several other site-specific initiatives.

  • Environmentally Friendly Equipment and Products: We ensure that at least 90% of our cleaning equipment meets environmentally preferred criteria, and 98% of our cleaning products are EcoLogo certified.

  • Sustainable Shipping Practices:  By shipping 96% of our chemicals in a concentrated state and diluting them onsite, we've drastically reduced the need for transporting diluted products over thousands of kilometres. This initiative alone has cut over 90,000 kg of CO2e emissions in the past five years.

  • Creating Eco-Conscious Workspaces: We use Energy Star-rated appliances, efficient lighting, and HVAC systems. We also prioritize responsible water practices and fuel-efficient vehicles, incentivizing team members to choose eco-friendly options to reduce our carbon footprint.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service goes hand in hand with BEST’s purpose of having a positive impact. Through our ongoing efforts in carbon emissions reduction, waste diversion, sustainable shipping, and eco-conscious workspaces, we are proud to be truly green.
