What is a COVID-19 Playbook?
In 2020, the most significant change to BEST's Health and Safety policies and procedures has been our response to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. We have introduced new training protocols for ‘Cleaning for Health’, ‘Cleaning vs. Disinfecting’, and cleaning spaces contaminated by COVID-19. These represent BEST's effort to fight the pandemic and ensure the safety of our sites. We have instituted mandatory team member self-checking procedures to detect symptoms of COVID-19. BEST also changed procedures for meetings and lunchrooms, maintained social distancing, and required the use of additional personal protective equipment such as masks or face shields.
We have created an extensive, site-specific guide for the re-opening of our facilities during the new normal and guides that can be re-used for future pandemic situations for each site. The plan includes value-added services such as new technologies that we have adopted to increase the level of protection. The plan details how BEST got our staff back to work and maintained staffing levels once sites reopen. We also put measures in place to increase supplies and personal protective equipment that will be essential when dealing with the new normal.
Our flexibility and responsiveness prior to the pandemic helped us to develop customized plans for our clients that far outpaced other cleaning providers.
