A BEST Service Pros core value is Sustainable Success, which means that we believe in staying active in both our communities, with our clients, and partner associations.

Volunteers from St. Clair College and the University of Windsor got together on a Saturday to participate in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup program by World Wildlife Fund and Ocean Wise. The shoreline cleanup event was organized by the environmental coordinator from BEST Service Pros for St. Clair College, the sustainability advocate from the University of Windsor, and a representative from the World Wildlife Fund. The shoreline cleanup took place at the iconic Windsor Sculpture Park along the Detroit River.

In total 101 pounds of litter was collected, in which 58 pounds was sent to the landfilled and 43 pounds were recycled. Volunteers collected data about the litter they were picking up using data cards. Below are the 12 most commonly found litter items at the Sculpture Park cleanup:

Cigarette butts are high on the Sculpture Park shore cleanup data list and are among the most common sources of shoreline litter. Properly dispose of cigarette butts or butt-out for good!

We strongly encourage you also to lead or join a Cleanup near you to counter shoreline litter!
