We are Committed to Emergency Preparedness
We understand that emergencies can strike at any moment. Being prepared for such situations is a fundamental aspect of our promise to deliver operational excellence to our clients.
Our commitment to preparedness starts with maintaining up-to-date Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) at every BEST location. These plans are easily accessible to all team members and serve as guides during critical moments. They outline roles, responsibilities, and muster points, ensuring that everyone knows precisely what to do when faced with an emergency. At each site, an Emergency Operations Coordinator (EOC) is designated to play a pivotal role in coordinating responses. Our EAPs are closely integrated with client-specific plans, fostering seamless collaboration and support.
To ensure we respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies, we have implemented well-defined critical response procedures. These procedures are designed to activate within minutes, with a targeted recovery time ranging from just 60 minutes to one day. Additionally, we maintain a dedicated, trained response team available 24/7.
One of the primary challenges during emergencies is maintaining adequate staffing levels. To mitigate this risk, BEST maintains an on-call pool equivalent to 30% of our workforce. These part-time team members undergo rigorous vetting and are primed for immediate deployment when needed.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we conduct annual business impact testing and analysis, which includes scenario simulations. These exercises allow us to proactively identify potential weaknesses in our emergency response plans and make the necessary adjustments.
Our comprehensive and proactive approach to emergency preparedness guarantees that we are always prepared to face the unexpected, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.
