With the potential of another outbreak, it is important to have a cleaning partner that can properly support people with a pandemic preparedness plan.

How to Maintain Optimal Operations During a Pandemic?

  • Be aware of your business's current plan and the local health department’s pandemic plans.
  • With a reduced workforce in a major pandemic, identify what areas of your facilities are considered essential services and what areas can potentially be temporarily shut down for the benefit of the entire site.
  • Encouraging employees who have influenza-related symptoms (e.g., fever, headache, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle aches, or upset stomach) to stay home so that they do not infect other employees. We also recognize that employees with ill family members may need to stay home to care for them as well. Employees need to be aware of this policy so that there will never be an employee coming in to work sick and potentially spreading disease.
  • Identify possible exposure and health risks to those team members whose spouses or other family members are associated with high-risk groups (i.e., nurses, teachers, or retail/restaurant workers).
  • Identify those employees involved with administrative tasks and functions that can work from home to minimize exposure to fellow employees or the public.
  • Essential team members will be cross-trained both at the local level and head office level in order to be able to step up and function in the potential absence of their fellow team members in these positions.
