Certifications and Awards that Speak for Us

Our portfolio reaffirms the provision of services that is consistent and exceeds expectations while managing our impact on the environment and the impact of our customers. We also operate in many industry associations because we believe that by staying active in industry associations and our customers, we can learn and maintain the best cleaning practices and offer them to our clients.

In addition, we are currently the only company in the sector to have CIMS-GB and Carbon Neutral certifications. This industry-first is an example of our commitment to innovation and leadership in the best environmental practices.


Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) with Honours

Since 2012, BEST has achieved CIMS with honours, a key standard in the janitorial sector. CIMS is the comprehensive certification for a company as a whole and is equivalent to the ISO 9001 process, however, it far exceeds these standards as it is industry-specific.

The CIMS certification guarantees to customers that we have the appropriate systems in the areas of human resources, service provision, health and safety administration, quality systems, management commitment, and environmental practices.


Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and Green Building (GB) with Honours

Since 2012, BEST achieved the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and Green Building (GB) certification with honours. This certification is closely tailored to provide customers with precisely what they need to secure points under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED EB: O&M) Green Building Rating System while greening their operations overall.

As such, CIMS-GB certification demonstrates an organization’s capability to assist customers in achieving LEED EB: O&M points and offers customers assurance that the organization they select is prepared to partner with them in the LEED process.


Certificate of Recognition Program (COR) in Alberta

COR certification verifies that we have safety management systems in place that meet the established Occupational Health and Safety standards. To gain COR Certification, BEST Service Pros participated in the detailed standard processes that ensure adequate safety training, high safety standards on-site, and a detailed health and safety manual, preventing work-related injuries and ensuring safe work practices at our clients’ facilities.


Certificate of Recognition Program (COR) in British Columbia 

As mentioned above, COR certification verifies that we have safety management systems that meet established Occupational Health and Safety standards, adopting the ‘best practices’ approach to implementing its injury prevention and management programs.



BEST has been committed to measuring and offsetting our carbon footprint since 2009. We position ourselves as one of the only janitorial organizations in Canada that has a comprehensive climate strategy to achieve a zero-carbon footprint. We achieve this by working closely with Offsetters, the leading carbon management provider in North America.

Our carbon offset funds are used to support projects that would not otherwise be possible, and are not used to subsidize existing planned projects. Since 2009, we have compensated 8,130,000 tCO2e, which is equivalent to removing 2,281 cars from the road. Our portfolio of compensation-funded projects includes local, regional, and international ventures.



SuperHost® is a suite of quality, customer service training courses for front-line employees, recognized as the standard for customer service excellence in British Columbia. BEST Service Pros provides this training to all public-facing team members, because our services go beyond traditional cleaning tasks. Also, we recognize that our staff are ambassadors for our clients’ facilities, and need to present a professional image to our clients.

BEST has collaborated with SuperHost to become a Certified SuperHost Instructor, to provide customer service excellence training to our team. It has enabled us to improve our high quality of service, operations, and the customer service experience that our clients provide to their customers or patrons.


Canada’s Best Managed

As a clear indication of our stability and managerial strength, BEST Service Pros was named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth consecutive year. This award, organized by Deloitte, recognizes excellence in Canadian-owned and -managed companies with revenues over $15 million. This competitive designation evaluates an organization’s strategy, capability, team alignment, and financial performance.

Also, this is the third consecutive year BEST has been awarded the Gold Standard for this award, for companies who have demonstrated the commitment to the Best Managed program and successfully retained this award for four to six consecutive years.

This national program recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having cultures that enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.
